Baptism

Baptism is a Biblical requirement for Christians that in the best of conditions should unify believers. Baptisms are scheduled whenever they are requested and will take place during a worship service. All the children in worship are invited forward during the baptism to give them the opportunity to participate in the service.  If you wish to be baptized or have a child baptized, contact Pastor at revmarleen@stmarkmburg.com or 717-766-4482.

First Holy Communion

Families of Elementary age students (or anyone else who have not received First Holy Communion) are encouraged to prepare for Holy Communion by learning together on the following website: https://stmarkfirstcommunion.weebly.com/  As your family is preparing for your child's First Holy Communion, please contact Pastor Marleen at revmarleen@stmarkmburg.com with questions and to schedule the Sacrament of Holy Communion. 

Confirmation/Affirmation of Baptism

We know that family life, especially during the teenage years is hectic.  So we offer individualized Confirmation preparation.  If you have a 7th- 12th grader who wishes to grow in his or her faith and wants to become a voting member of St. Mark, the Confirmation process is for you!  Contact Pastor Marleen at revmarleen@stmarkmburg.com to begin the program and learn about all the options including online, in person, or confirmation camps plus active participation in our ministry.  After the process, the rite of Affirmation of Baptism will be scheduled. Joining St. Mark

Membership in Saint Mark Lutheran Church is not required in order to be an active part of our life together.  All are welcome!  While there are low barriers to worshipping and getting involved, there are higher expectations for membership, such as worshipping regularly with the community, serving, contributing financially, joining committees, etc.  If you are interested in becoming a member of Saint Mark Lutheran Church, please contact the Pastor at revmarleen@stmarkmburg.com or 717-766-4482.
